I started my Charm City Cook blog in 2010 as a way to document my kitchen adventures. After a few trips to Paris to visit my best friend, I had developed an interest in food and cooking — France really made me look at food differently. With the help of people like Julia Child and Ina Garten, I began to try cooking new things. I like to call it tinkering. I prefer playing around with flavors and ingredients, tasting and figuring out what my dish needs. My cooking is often based on cravings — I hope yours is, too. That makes it really fun.
First time you ever got drunk:
Ninth grade, high school party, Red White & Blue.
Worst thing you ever drank:
Room temp eggnog with about five kinds of booze in it.
If you had to listen to one album on loop, for the rest of your life, what would it be?
U2, The Joshua Tree. I like albums that take you back to a place and time in your life.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not eating, drinking or cooking?
What’s your go-to drink in a cocktail bar? Wine bar?
Vodka martini, up. Olives. Extra cold.

Miller High Life.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Sitting around a table picking crabs with people I love.

That I didn’t go with the flow, although that might have been easier.
