I love the Corner Pantry. From the clean, simple, fresh decor to the easy, relaxed vibe to the delicious food – the biscuits to the doughnuts and salads and more – everything is made in-house. It’s all good. Spot on, really. British Chef Neill Howell and his wife Emily (a Baltimorean) have made the corner of Lake & Falls the place to go to wake up, refuel, meet a friend for lunch, take dinner home, sit in on a cooking class and now, their catering business is thriving. Next time you’re having an event at work or home, give them a call and Chef will create a fabulous spread for you and your guests.

Emily says, “In our catering business, we’re doing everything from business lunch drop-offs and private dinners home to large cocktail receptions for 300 or more. We’ve done a lot in this past year.” (They opened on February 14, so they’re coming up on a year now.) She continues, “Where I see us as unique and what comes up often when talking to clients is that Baltimore catered events seem to always have two main staples… beef tenderloin and crab dip/crab cakes. And, while we of course do offer those items (and we do a damn good tenderloin and crab cake, by the way), I believe we bring a whole new approach to home and event catering. Lots of bold spices, herbs, flavors, yet simple approachable presentation. Everything made fresh, in-house from scratch. Unique passed appetizers/dishes. Really great desserts – I don’t think we’ve done one event without the presence of our chocolate chip cookies.”

Also, you need to figure out an excuse to have a business meeting or lunch with a friend there on a Friday because Chef makes some killer fish & chips…only available on Fridays. The mushy peas? OMG. The mushy peas!
