Spring Has Sprung At Area Farmers Markets

April 8, 2015 by Amy Langrehr

Spring. It gives you a feeling of hopefulness, no? Me, I’m hopeful for asparagus. And peas. And oh yeah, rhubarb! (And tulips, peonies, hydrangeas…) The JFX farmers market opened last Sunday, daffodils are out and the winter coat has been moved to the back of the closet. Thank GOD.

Waverly Market – year round goodness

November 3, 2014 by Amy Langrehr

Baltimore has had some pretty entertaining slogans. We’ve seen “The City That Reads”, “The Greatest City in America”, “Get In On It” and ”Find Your Happy Place.”

How to keep your farmers market haul fresher longer

July 15, 2014 by Amy Langrehr

One of my favorite food websites is The Kitchn. For a home cook like me, it is a great resource.  I have already referenced this post about a dozen times to see if I’m storing my farmers market purchases properly! Strawberry Rhubarb Compote

May 22, 2012 by Amy Langrehr

Oh, say it ain’t so… This just may be the last week or two of local strawberries and rhubarb at the farmers market. (And…be …

Winter at the Waverly Farmer’s Market

December 5, 2011 by Amy Langrehr

I’m a big Waverly Market fan. Since it’s a year-round market, I go every week for staples like milk, eggs, bread, lettuce, apples, potatoes, onions and bacon (yes, bacon is a staple in my house.) The selection of fruits and veggies, of course, is a bit more limited in the cold winter months…but I feel good supporting local folks as much as I …
