SNOW CONE SISTERS
Popular Gertrude’s Summer Pop-Up Coming Back

Last year’s very popular summer pop-up — Snow Cone Sisters — is coming back to the Baltimore Museum of Art Sculpture Garden later this month. Above is the menu from LAST year, but it gives you an idea as to what you might expect. Think pretzels, hotdogs and snowballs!

Just in case you don’t get the name, it’s a play on the BMA’s most famous benefactors, Claribel and Etta Cone, who donated their huge art collection, furniture, etc. to the BMA in 1950. I worked at the BMA from 1996-1999 and The Cone Collection was (and still is) one of my favorite parts of the museum to wander. It includes many works by Henri Matisse, as well as Picasso, Cezanne, van Gogh, Renoir and more. It is such a Baltimore treasure.

C’EST MAGNIFIQUE!
a perfect dinner, from start to finish

I had the best dinner, especially for a plain old Tuesday night. Nothing plain or old about Petit Louis Bistro. It is consistently a flawless experience, yet at the same time, it is never ever boring. If I could afford it, I’d go once a week. For now, it’s once every few months…and that is a-ok with me. Dinner with a friend, a solo lunch (back before COVID when I had time for a Civilized Lunch) or even a Sunday brunch. A treat, every single time.

ps. Thank you, Aly and Caryn for a wonderful evening in the parking lot. And Scanga for the amazing food. And, my favorite martini in town. I love the table side pour, too. It’s like theater!

And, one last plug for the online auction for The GreenMount School. So many things to bid on at many price points in many different categories. If you haven’t bid on anything yet, please do — every little bit will help my school! Bidding closes this coming Friday at 5:00pm.

I think Ekiben is always a good choice.

Chef Beej dinner at your home

Wine at Old Westminster

Salted Caramel Brownies by me!

And, remember: bid high and bid often. It’s for a great cause, these kiddos!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Earlier today, I was thinking of skipping this week’s newsletter — I’m so glad I didn’t!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, the caregivers, the people missing their mom
or trying to become a mom…people who chose not to be a mom.
So many people to lift up today.

As always, thank you for sharing this email with your friends!
