Sobo Cafe – a warm, welcoming delicious option in Federal Hill

August 4, 2014 by Amy Langrehr

I hadn’t been to Sobo Cafe in years. Anna Leventis, a Baltimore native, has owned and operated the restaurant since May of 2012 and I’ve heard consistently positive things about this place, so I thought it was time I visit again. And I’m glad I did. What a gem.

Upside Down Peach Cake
I especially loved the Baltimore Bouillabaisse, the Garden Ranch Salad (like a BLT in a bowl) and the desserts – and I am SO not a dessert girl. The upside down peach cake was a great surprise and the house made marshmallow cream on the sundae? I wanted a jar of it!

And since this is restaurant week, check out their menu. It made the Baltimore Sun’s Top Ten List (Congrats Anna and Jim!)

If it’s a nice night, sit outside and dine al fresco. Bring your dog, they can hang outside, too. They even have Pupsicles (Milkbone dog biscuit frozen in beef broth.) Don’t tell my Labrador…
